The South African National Climbing Federation is responsible for competition climbing and the development of climbing in artificial climbing environments.
The SANCF works to encourage climbing at all levels from grassroots to elite athlete development. All those interested in the development of climbing as a sport are encouraged to become a member of the SANCF and participate in the organisation.
The SANCF is responsible for the administrative support to existing competitions, (registration, advertising etc), but the competitions themselves remain the same under the same management.
The SANCF encourages and sanctions competitions across South Africa.
The SANCF provides competition information and application packages to individuals or organisations who would like to hold a sanctioned competition.
The SANCF reviews these applications and provides sanctioning for competition at the local, regional and national levels.
The SANCF ensures that these sanctioned events are run safely, fairly, equitably, consistently and according to the IFSC rules.
The SANCF will implement a continuous training program bringing in new organisers, judges, route setters and belayers with competition specific courses and training.
