CURVES JOINS IN ON THE FUN AT THE TOTALSPORTS LADIES RACE IN STELLENBOSCH AND JOHANNESBURG
Curves has teamed up with the Totalsports Ladies Race and will be seen in action in Stellenbosch and Johannesburg on Thursday, 09 August 2012 when thousands of runners take to the streetsin celebration of National Women’s Day.
Curves, an organisation that is committed to helping women around the world become strong and healthy through diet and exercise, was created specifically for women and offers a complete fitness and nutrition solution.
According to Idette van Niekerk, Co-Owner Curves Stellenbosch, celebrating women’s month by hosting a ladies race is a brilliant idea. “We are excited to be hosting a water point at the Totalsports Ladies Race in Stellenbosch. Hosting such a race in honour of Women on National Women’s day is a brilliant idea and we are proud to be involved in the celebration,” says van Niekerk.
Curves branches across the Western Cape: Oakdale, Durbanville, Blaauwberg, Brackenfell, Durbanville, Monte Vista, Pinelands, Plattekoof, Tokai, Strand, Somerset West, Cape Town, Milnerton, Oudtshoorn, Lakeside, Wellington, Stellenbosch, Claremont, Worcester, Constantia, Mitchells Plain, Mossel Bay, Fish Hoek, George, Hermanus, Hout Bay, Knysna, Sea Point, Malmesbury, Paarl, Plettenberg Bay and Vredenburg.
According to Shona Bell, Curves JOZI, getting involved with the Totalsports Ladies Race is a great privilege. “Curves is all about strengthening women. Where ever strong women are that’s where we are. Our staff and members have always participated in the Totalsports Ladies Race, this year we’re really excited to be on the other side of the fence by getting involved. It’s the cherry on top,” says Bell.
Curves branches in Johannesburg: Northcliff, Randburg , Fourways, Glenhazel, Ruimsig, Meyersdal, Brakenhurst, Edenvale, Benoni, Boksburg, Kempton Park and Bedfordview.

Peninsula Beverages the bottlers of Coca Cola & Powerade in the Western Cape will once again ensure that all participants are adequately hydrated on the route on race day. In addition to this they will also provide all entrants with an ice cold Coca Cola as they cross the finish line at the Coetzenburg Stadium in Stellenbosch. Numerous lucky draw prizes of product and merchandise from Coca Cola & Powerade will also be available at prize giving.

Medals will be awarded to all finishers. Moms with prams are welcome, while husbands, family and friends are encouraged to join in the fun and show support on route.
The 2012 Totalsports Ladies Race Stellenbosch and Johannesburg support Pink Drive. The Pink Drive campaign is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering services to women across South Africa, particularly to those who do not have access to information on breast health.
