Die Burger MTB Challenge Coming Up !

We�ve been hard at work to get everything ready for the 2012 Die Burger MTB Challenge taking place on 28 July at Eikestad Primary School in Stellenbosch.

If you haven�t entered yet, please visit www.dieburgermtbchallenge.co.za and enter today. Entries close on Monday 16 July and no late entries will be accepted for the long distances (42km, 60km, 75km) and the 30km & 15km are filling up fast!

And while you enter, don�t forget to add the event souvenir gear to your purchase basket as these items won�t be on sale once entries have closed. Samples of the merchandise for view at Dirtopia Trail Centre on Delvera farm. All adult finishers will receive a bottle of Jordan wine and the kids a waterbottle from Stellenbosch Autopage! All finishers will receive a medal as well.

ROUTES

The two longer distances are for experienced mountain bikers only, while the shorter funrides are perfect for new mountain bikers and families. The long routes will cross several of the famous wine estates in the Simonsberg Conservancy and new singletrack is being built for you to enjoy! Good refreshment stations along all routes.

The Mediclinic Events team will provide medical assistance on race day. A fully-fledged field hospital with an ICU section will be erected at the finish line and will be staffed by 2 medical doctors and 3 registered ICU and trauma trained nurses. Dr Basil Bonner and his team will be assisted by teams from ER24, a private, emergency medical response service. �The Mediclinic Events team is able to provide a wide range of emergency medical services and we are specifically geared to assist at extreme sporting events. On the day, we will have on-site intensive care facilities and will be able to deal with the spectrum of injuries that we have come to observe at these events, says Dr Basil Bonner, the leader of the Mediclinic Events team.

The temporary Amarider TrailTag is included in your entry fee and will be removed at the finish. Amarider members and current tag holders will receive their new permanent TrailTag and also a discount on their entry. You can join Amarider when you enter and support mountain biking! This TrailTag is much more than a timing tool that stores your MTB event history for future seeding events; it is a vital form of identification that contains all your personal and medical details, so make sure you wear it on your arm during the event.
