INVESTEC NIGHT RELAY - Results from Round 1

The first round of the Investec Night Relay took place last night around North End Lake with no fewer than 111 teams entered despite the wet conditions.

The young team from Gamble Pharmacy, defending champions from last year, too the line honours once again with a commanding win. The 5 team members completed a total distance of 21km in a fast time of 1hr 9min and 42seconds, just 8 seconds outside of the record they set last year. The Transnet 2nd team place second with the PKF 1st team in third place. Deloitte's mixed team took the Mixed team category whilst the Running Diva's from the Rhino Group took the Ladies team category with their 2 Fast 2 Furious colleagues taking the Walking team category.

Local businesses are excited ahead of Thursday's event with most companies entering more than one running and walking team. The company with the most entries at the moment is MTN with no fewer than 15 teams entered for the evening.

Teams were entertained with live music and a great lucky draw prize giving immediately after the event.

The Series continues for the next three months, taking place on the first Thursday of each month. Online entries are encouraged at www.investecnightrelay.co.za
