Whale Trail, De Hoop Nature Reserve

The famous slackpacking Whale Trail is a 5 day hike in the Marine Protected Area of De Hoop Nature reserve in the Western Cape of South Africa. This coastal reserve harbours spectacular vistas of Turquoise Ocean swirling below porcelain white sand dunes. The trail winds over pristine dunes, across rock pools teeming with life and along the fringe of unique Cape fynbos. One of the highlights of the walk is the uninterrupted view of the Southern Right Whales - moms and their babies who spend June to December frolicking in the clear waters of the bay. Join us for a fully guided and catered slackpacking adventure.  Starts 29th September to the 4th October
