Mount Sheba, a Forever Lodge, has numerous short trails in excellent condition. These range from dense natural forest meanders to grassy paths along the ridge high above the lodge. Ilanga Trails has found routes to join these trails, creating a testing 20km route with about 800m of ascent. The 12km and 6km trails will take the runner though magical forests of towering trees, hundreds of years old, crossing streams and through shady groves.
All finishers will receive a medal. Amazing prizes such as weekends in various other Forever Resorts and spot prizes are up for grabs. The hosts have pulled out all the stops to make this a fun filled farewell to winter.
The venue has hotel rooms and time share units. There are also limited camping facilities. The cuisine is of the best that Mpumalanga has to offer.

The 20km route starts off at about 1650m and runs through natural forest eventually climbing to a contour path. It then follows the entrance road for a while before heading along the ridge (1920m) above the lodge. A steep drop off takes you down to the lowest point (1450m). Following a stream for a while you then start to climb back towards the lodge on an interesting single track. You then head off along well marked single track though the indigenous forest, past waterfalls, crossing over to the final trail, really showing what the property has to offer the nature lover.
The 12km route starts off with the 20km though the forest and onto the contour path. Following the entrance road for a short way it leaves the long route and sets off below the ridge (1870m) before re-joining the long route with and its stunning single track sections through the indigenous forest.
The 6km route is almost entirely run in the natural forest surrounding the lodge, passing waterfalls and crossing streams, this is really a great way to spend a morning.
Walkers welcome on the 6km route.
