37th Old Mutual Buffalo Marathon

Route type.Point to point. Gather on the stutterheim road and race back to East London. What a great idea! This marathon is run through the emerald-green rolling hills close to east london.

Grand Masters are FREE (ID requested as proof of age)Entries will be taken at registration on Friday 26
Walkers and slow runners start 04h30 (provide own transport to the start and support for the first hour. Race starts 05h30
(SLOW RUNNERS ARE DEFINED AS THOSE THAT WILL RUN BETWEEN 5-6 HRS FOR THE MARATHON & WISH TO START EARLIER)
No ’cut off’ time, water holes close 11h30
Busses for the 05h30 start leave the Buffs Club at 04h00 sharp on a 1st come, 1st served basis
Pasta supper available at the Buffalo Club Restaurant on Friday from 17h00-22h00
T-shirts are guaranteed to pre-entries. Late entries must accept that the size required may not be available

Rules & Instructions
All participants must be 20 years or older for the marathon
Monies not refundable for non-participation in the event for whatever reason
The marathon is a Comrades qualifier (5 hours)
Walkers must wear the correct "walker" identification tags on the front and rear of their vests and these must be clearly visible
All participants must wear the following:
a)Their correct club colours
b)Age category flashes on front & back of vest to qualify for prizes
c)2010 Provincial licence number on front & back of vest
The race is run in strict accordance with the rules of the IAAF, Athletics South Africa and Border Athletics
There will be lucky draw prizes and participants must have entered the event and be present at the prize-giving for these prizes
All entrants must collect their race tickets and temporary numbers from the registration tables at the Buffalo Club between 17:00 and 20:00pm on Friday 26th February and not at the start
Refreshment tables are provided. Personal seconding is allowed 100m either sider of the water hole only
No queries will be attended to on race day
Licensed athletes are covered by insurance. Refer to BA on 043 722 2427 for further details
All foreign athletes must comply with IAAF rule 4 paragraph 2, and rule 142
LATE ENTRIES ON FRIDAY NIGHT PRIOR TO THE RACE ARE SUBJECT TO A LATE ENTRY SURCHARGE OF R10.00 (TEN RAND)
Temporary licences will only be distributed at the club for R15.00 each on the friday evening preceding the race
