The venue start + finish at the Meulspruit Dam 5km outside Ficksburg on the Clocolan road. The event is part of the well known Cherry Festival.
There are 5 different distances 2km & 8km &20km fun ride - 40km half marathon + 60km full marathon

Rules
No helmet No ride
SAMBA rules will apply
Number boards received at registration must be handed in afterwards
No serving vehicles besides the official vehicles will be allowed to follow the cyclists
All instructions from officials and marshals must be obeyed
First aid will be provided
Tour will take place irrespective of the weather conditions
Drinks and refreshments will be for sale
Entry fees will not be refunded

Route

40km HALF MARATHON
The 40km half maraton is not very technical, but you have to cross two mountains. On top of the first mountain.10km from the start, is the King + Queen of the Mountain spot which is also the 1st water point.
The second mountain is the well known Imparani Mountain, the bonus on this section is the cement road, 6km from the finish. This is a very fast 3.5km decent and riders must be very careful and their brakes must be 100% and to be on the lookout for car’s coming up and to look out for sheep, cattle and dogs on this road.
SING /TRACK - 3.7km
JEEP TRACK - 20.7km
TAR + SEMENT - 8.1km
GRAVEL ROAD - 6.6km

60km Marathon
The 60km maraton is a real challenge, the first 15km is the same route as the half marathon, but at the tar road the 40km go RIGHT and the 60km go LEFT on the tar road for 2km. Thereafter through a very technical and spectacular sandstone section, then into SNAKE VALLEY which is a spectacular KOPPIE with a great downhill
At the third water point just before the Imparani Mountain the route join the 40km route. There is also a cut-off time at this water point which is 11h30
After WITBULT, 10km from the finish is the last water point. The view from the top of this Free State Mountains is very spectacular

JEEP TRACK - 31.8km
TAR + SEMENT - 9.7km
GRAVEL ROAD - 11.5km
